Installation Instructions
The Mecheditor Suite is a collection of Microsoft .NET applications. This means that two things are required to get started. First, you need to ensure that you have the .NET framework installed. Second, you need to install the application itself. Both of these are fairly simple.

First, install the .NET framework. Download and run the following:
dotnetfx35setup.exe

This may produce an error saying that it is already installed. If this happens, no problem! Just skip over to the next step.

Second, download and install the Mecheditor Suite:
mecheditor_installer.msi

Once that's completed, run it! The first time you run Mecheditor Suite it will prompt you for a "Data Directory". This is a central repository for all of your mech designs, prototype gear, etc. Make sure that you have write access to that directory. A subdirectory of "My Documents" will do fine.

Finally, to get started, download and install the 3039 "MechPack". This is all of the mech files and graphics for every canonical mech in use during the Succession Wars. To Install the Mechpack, start MechEditor, and in the "Mech Library" menu, select "Install Mech Pack". It will then prompt you for a file. Point it at this file:
3039.bin

After a few seconds, you will have the 80+ mechs of the 3039 mechpack installed.

Note to Internet Explorer Users: IE seems to be renaming this file when you download it as a .zip file. If this happens, don't panic! Simply select "All Files" from the File Types list in the "Install Mech Pack" Dialog, and select the .zip file.

That's it! Any questions, comments, or bug reports, email me: jamez@iwptech.com
